World Of Warcraft Cost Me $8000
Here is my graph of tournament winnings over the last 10 months or so.
Notice the nearly linear relationship between days played + cash won, up until the graph suddenly flatlines? That’s when I started playing World Of Warcraft. Over the 4 month period I wasted killing Skeletons, I would have expected to make $8000+ playing poker instead.
HARRY CLARKE WAS RIGHT.
The sad thing is, I still want to play 😦

Nice one Yobbo, the main WOW cost is opportunity cost. At least I’ve kept my job going through my 4 month WoW addiction. My wife and I just don’t watch TV any more (she plays as well).
Anyway I take it you’ll be taking all Harry’s advise and giving up the ciggies?

Well I do, yes. It’s quite hard when you have to continually take out funds for living expenses. That graph only shows how much I’ve won though, it’s not the size of my account.

Great episode of South Park tonight, taking the piss out of WoW players. Could only find a YouTube link to the preview. Give it a few days and the whole episode should be up on YouTube.

Actually I thought that episode was pretty kind to WoW. It takes the piss out of gaming as a whole, but it’s pretty clear that the South Park guys are big fans of WoW. You’d have to be to make a Machinima like that in the first place.
